There is so much to learn; suddenly you have to get familiar with new vocabulary and products you've never heard of before! It can sometimes feel unsettling.
Today, we offer you a little 101 course on one of the essentials of toddler sleep: the sleeping bag.
What is a sleeping bag?
The sleeping bag, also called a turbulette or sleeper, is an integral part of the sleep ritual in Europe. While it is less common on this side of the Atlantic, it has been gaining a prominent place among parents in recent years, especially since it fully aligns with Health Canada's recommendations on safe sleep for babies.
As a reminder: the child must be laid on their back, in an appropriate bed, and without any objects, stuffed animals, or blankets in their crib.
The sleeping bag is therefore perfectly suited to keep baby warm without risk!
Presented as a sleeveless sleeping bag into which you slip the baby, it ensures your child stays at the optimal temperature throughout the night.
The TOGs
The sleeping bags can be used year-round, thanks to their warmth rating called TOG. The higher the TOG, the warmer the sleeping bag!
The innovation: the magical sleeping bags "Les petites billes"
We recently welcomed the brand Les petites billes at Little Pépites, an innovative (revolutionary!) French brand in the world of maternity.
Their absolutely brilliant idea was to create a universal sleeping bag that, thanks to its two removable layers, adapts to all temperatures and all seasons.
As a bonus, it comes in a pouch as cute as it is practical, to make transport easier.
A saving of time, money, and energy for young parents, which completely won us over.
And of course, the brand is part of our eco-responsible approach, with manufacturing in Portugal using OEKO-TEX certified fabrics.
